The entire planet Venus is covered by a single cloud of sulfuric acid. Beneath the cloud lies Earth’s sister, a rocky planet of about the same size and orbiting close to Earth. Its surface is under enormous pressure and has the highest temperatures of any planet in the solar system.

From Earth, Venus, known as the “morning star” or “evening star,” shines brighter than any other planet or star in the night sky.
